Hatha Yoga uses Classic postures and conscious breathing in combination with mental focus to develop awareness, strength, flexibility, and relaxation. These skills are practiced with basic poses, both seated and standing. Slow Flow is a gentle form of Vinyasa Flow. The inclusion of slower, grounded postures and gentler movements allow students to build confidence, familiarity and proper form during this class. Through proper alignment and mindful actions of the body, Hatha Yoga brings balance, strength and a sense of wellbeing to the practitioner. All Hatha Yoga classes end with relaxation. This class consists of focusing/working/stretching body parts, one body part at a time! Learning and practicing different types of breath for preventative reasons and ending class with rest. Basic but challenging! Dynamic movements bring muscle memory and Static holds bring strength and endurance. Breathing practices with movement, ending in relaxation pose to integrate practice, closing with a guided meditation. This class is a series of twenty-six asana poses designed to scientifically warm and stretch muscles, ligaments, and tendons in the order in which they should be stretched. This meditative practice is designed to release deep tissue tension & fatigue. You will hold each pose for 1-3 minutes, while a fortress of blocks, blankets, and bolsters support you.
