Our Story

As El Paso reeled with shock in the aftermath of the shooting on August 3rd, 2019, emergency responders were there to answer the call and serve. Months later as the COVID-19 pandemic took over the globe in early 2020, responders of all kinds continued to answer the call and help strangers in need. Texans to the Rescue was started to address the stress and emotional fatigue that responders and public safety workers, and by association their families, experience due to their profession.

Texans to the Rescue exists to create space for responders and their families to connect with others who have or are experiencing similar events and to create opportunities for peer-to-peer mentoring. Through education and outreach, Texans to the Rescue works to provide a holistic approach that supports the well-being of responders and their families.

Texans to the Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) under the name West Texas Responders Alliance.

Mission

To support our responder’s physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being.
